Micellar water is a liquid cleansing formula that was developed to be a no-rinse, thereby avoiding contact with tap water, which can, depending on its quality, aggravate cutaneous hypersensitivity. Micellar waters typically have a lightweight and slightly slippery feel due to the presence of micelles, which are tiny cleansing molecules dispersed into the water. Micelles ‘lock’ themselves onto dirt, debris and make up, allowing for easier removal when wiped with a cotton pad.
