When last did life go exactly according to script?
It rarely does.
In modern times, we’ve come to expect the unexpected – and our skin is there with us every step of the way.
Getting professional guidance on your individual skin type and concerns has always been our number one piece of advice.
Professional help not only provides personalisation and structure to our skincare routines and lives, but it also serves as an important guardrail, letting us know where our boundaries lie while addressing key objectives and concerns.
It’s the proactive “I’m doing something about this situation” step.
Tick.
With that said, our skin is a highly evolved organ that is constantly taking its cues from our environment as well as our lifestyle habits. These changes are rarely predictable, which mimics everyday life.
We recently coined the term ‘Skin-Sponding’. The concept is simple – have ‘responsive’ skincare in your kit, at the ready for when the inevitable daily, weekly or seasonal changes occur in your skin. And trust us – they will occur.
But hold-up, what about the script?
The plan remains – and so do your routine staples. However, there is a bonus upside to ‘Skin-Sponding’ which is introducing different ingredients and formulations that your skin isn’t so well-acquainted with, at different and unpredictable times. Why is that a bonus?
Our skin likes to be surprised!
I generally don’t agree with ‘pumped up’ sports/fitness analogies when it comes to skincare, but I have to admit it has some relevance here. If we constantly do the same exercises at the same cadence or resistance, we’ll reach a plateau in our fitness. Your skin too can benefit from switching things up every now and again (within the framework of your skin type and concerns).
We’ve released an emailer and a podcast about our ‘Skin-Sponding’ philosophy, which ties into having a few backbencher products ready to respond to any changes (there I go with the sports analogy again, sigh).
If you have any questions or need any guidance on how to ‘Skin-Spond’, drop our therapists an email, phone call, or live chat message – responding is our jam 🙂
