Sunburn is a skin condition that occurs as a result of overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or artificial sources like tanning beds. When the skin is exposed to excessive UV rays, it leads to damage to the skin cells, particularly the DNA within those cells. As a protective response, the body releases more blood to the affected area, causing the skin to become red, tender, and painful.

Skincare products that can help with sunburn
It’s important to note that while sunburn treatment products can provide relief and support the healing process, they do not reverse the damage caused by UV radiation. Prevention is the best approach to avoid sunburn. Applying broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF, seeking shade during peak sun hours, wearing protective clothing, and using sunglasses and hats can significantly reduce the risk of sunburn.
