Key Science & Ingredients

NEOGLUCOSAMINE®

Patented NeoGlucosamine is an amino sugar which inhibits tyrosinase, the key enzyme in the production of melanin. It enhances cell turnover, helping to gently exfoliate existing pigmented areas and surface cells to brighten and clarify the skin. Applied twice a day, studies have shown an improvement in visually-graded, mottled pigmentation. This star ingredient reduces pigment, giving the skin a more even skin tone.

SABIWHITE®

Patented SabiWhite® is a registered trademark of Sabinsa Corporation. It has been formulated to enhance cell turnover and diminish the appearance of skin discolouration while inhibiting tyrosinase to help prevent new dark spots from forming. The source of this patented active ingredient is found in turmeric: Tetrahydrocurcumin (THC). In vitro studies offer pigment reduction by inhibiting tyrosinase thereby blocking melanin production, it protects the fibroblast cells from UVB damage and it is a potent antioxidant.

GIGAWHITE®

Patented Gigawhite® Is a botanical extract blend of 7 alpine plants which helps to reduce tyrosinase activity and inhibit melanin production. These extracts also gives the skin a more even skin tone, which is brighter and more luminous.

RETINOL

The depigmenting effects of Retinol are well known as it increases cellular turnover and also helps to inhibit melanin production and tyrosinase activity.

ASCORBYL GLUCOSIDE (VITAMIN C)

This is a stable source of Vitamin C which protects the skin against oxidative aggressors. It also has increased skin penetration and topically it helps to prevent new pigment and to reverse existing pigment. It increases intracellular ascorbic acid content in the fibroblasts and is also a potent antioxidant. Vitamin C also gives the skin a radiant glow.

OLIGOPEPTIDE-34

Oligopeptide-34 is a targeted peptide that reduces pigment and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines.

LIQUORICE EXTRACT

Liquorice Extract is a botanical brightener which inhibits tyrosinase activity.

BUTYL RESORCINOL

This is a Resorcinol derivative that has an inhibitory effect on both tyrosinase and tyrosinase-related protein-1; and reduces melanin production.

VITAMIN E
