Centella Asiatica, also known as Gotu Kola or Cica, contains biologically active compounds like asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic and madecassic acid. These compounds help in wound healing by increasing antioxidant activity and enhancing collagen synthesis. Centella Asiatica also stimulates the production of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which are polysaccharides that form a part of the liquid between skin cells. It is especially effective in stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid in our skin.
